Friday Favourite: Mummy Wife Me
This week I would like to introduce you all to Renee from Mummy, Wife, Me a blog that follows the ups and downs of parenthood and marriage and focuses on the importance of not losing sight of ‘you’ in this journey. These are Renee’s five favourite things right now.
Mummy Wife Me
Dave
This guy. My love. My rock. My best friend.
Dave and I met more than 14 years ago at an interior design function in a gay nightclub. It was fate. One of us didn’t want to be there and the other wasn’t meant to be. We locked eyes over a pool table and a couple of mutual friends introduced us.
I admire that Dave’s his own man. He runs his own race and doesn’t care what anyone thinks. He’s a true individual. He’s talented, wise, calm, patient, and an incredible daddy and husband. We’ve been through some real highs together and some real lows and we are stronger and closer because of it.
My girls
Some days I just can’t help but stand and gawk at these beautiful creatures that I call my children. How did I get so lucky to have them in my life?
Miss Four is a sweet natured, sensitive soul with a wild imagination. She has an imaginary best friend called Ellabella (who’s currently on holidays in Hong Kong) and she honest to God believes that fairies live behind a little door in a wall in our house.
Our two-year-old, Smiley, has a smile that will brighten your day and melt your heart. She’s vivacious, determined and growing way too fast. She’s obsessed with dogs and I know it’s only a matter of time before she asks for one of her own. Eek.
My blog
This little ol blog of mine has a big hold on my heart. I admit that sometimes I have a love-hate relationship with it, but let’s be honest, I can’t imagine not having it in my life. It has given me so much more than I ever expected – best of all being the discovery of what lights my internal fire.
Swimming
Swimming is my medicine. I love how my body feels weightless in the water and how easily I can get in the zone when there’s just me and the black line. I become calmer and it’s often a time of clarity for me.
Food
I’m not too crash hot at cooking it, but I sure as hell love to eat it. As soon as I roll out of bed in the morning, I make a beeline for the kitchen. Minutes after smashing back breakfast, I’m already thinking about my next meal. My current food addiction is a bagel with cream cheese from Bagel Boys at the Jan Powers Market in Brisbane. Every Wednesday, the bagel and I become one. It is one of the highlights of my week.
Thanks for sharing Renee, I love a good love story that was just meant to be. Pop by Renee’s blog Mummy Wife Me to say hello and have a look around. Meanwhile, I wonder if one of those fairies behind the wall would bring me a bagel …
