Friday Favourites: The Crafty Mummy
This week I have Tonya, the genius behind The Crafty Mummy. Tonya is into all things crafty – sewing, quilting, crochet, beading and more – plus she is a wife and mother of two cherubs. This is what Tonya wanted to share with us all for her Friday Favourites list.
My life is kind of like a circus – full of juggling! I love to start new projects so I often have multiple things on the go at once. I’m also juggling being a homemaker and mother as well as going back to work in my husband’s business. When I’m not doing those thing I’m juggling my website and email newsletter and social media while trying not to get sucked into the Pinterest void! It is non-stop here!
But today it is exciting to pop in here to My Brown Paper Packages and share my Friday Favourites with you.
1. Crochet blankets
I love to crochet and my favourite thing to make is blankets. My all-time favourite was a rainbow blanket in 12 different colours. It took ages but it is so lovely and happy! There is a tutorial so you could make one too.
2. Fruit Smoothies for breakfast
My daughter has decided that she wants fruit smoothies for breakfast – and she wants to make them which is a win-win for me! They are so quick and easy with just yoghurt, banana, frozen raspberries and milk. Yum!
3. New things for 2015
I’m excited to be starting some new things this year. The one thing I’m most enjoying is having a go at a Ladies Physie classes. Physie is a dance sport that has elements of ballet, pilates, gymnastics and modern dance, and it is going to be great for my fitness if nothing else. It is 30 years since I took a dance class but so far the sore muscles are outweighed by the fun bunch of ladies!
4. Sewing for Friends
There is only so much sewing that I need to do for my family so I get a little excited when someone wants me to sew something for them. This week I made some library bags for a friend – some easy sewing that was quick to finish and I know they will love them. See my mini quilts here.
5. Rainbow Mini Quilts
As I write this I am looking at one of my all time favourite quilting projects – one of my rainbow mini quilts. The team over at And Sew We Craft blog had a challenge to make mini quilts last year and I enjoyed making my month’s quilt so much that I made a couple more. The rainbow colours make my happy and the small projects are a quick finish which I find so satisfying.
Do you have lots of projects on the go? Do you like a quick finish? I’d love to chat more!
Thanks Tonya, a wonderful Friday Favourites list. I actually did Physie as a kid, it was very physical so I can imagine it would be great to do as a woman. Loving your rainbow blanket, so bright and cheery!
