Lorraine from Not Quite Nigella needs no introduction. We all know and love her enthusiasm for food and with 8 years of blogging she has an arsenal of recipes to share with us. If that is not enough, you can even buy her very own book! But, besides food in general, what else does Lorraine love?
My current food obsession is donuts. I’m not sure why and previously I’d eschew this deep fried treat but lately all I want to make are donuts. I think the recipe that started it for me was when I had some sour cream leftover from a recipe that only required 1 tablespoon and I hate anything going to waste. I decided to stuff some sugar rolled donuts with a combination of strawberry jam and sour cream-it was bliss and I felt as though I was Alice falling down the rabbit hole…
2. Red Lipstick
There’s nothing like a really good red lipstick for classic glamour. I recently read that Hugh Hefner bans the use of red lipstick for his bunnies which I think makes me like it even more!
3. Photographing People
I find them endlessly fascinating and truth is definitely more interesting than fiction. I love being around good people. I think I might be an extroverted introvert-as in someone that loves being around people but is a bit shy too around large groups. Does that even make sense?
Anyway I love photographing food but a close second is photographing people.
4. Sky and Cloud Watching
I don’t know what it is but when dusk and dark starts to settle I can watch the sky for hours. I am convinced that I can see patterns in the clouds and make up stories.
5. Pug Dogs
I’m extremely allergic to pug dogs which makes my obsession with them even stronger. I get my fix when I visit friends with pug dogs and this one is Coco, a good friend’s one eyed pug. Coco is 14 years old and grunts and snorts like a pig but she’s absolutely adorable.
Thank you Lorraine for sharing a little more about yourself and your top five favourite things at the moment. I can see how each and every one of these could make you happy, and that little pug face is just adorable.
If you have been living under a rock and don’t know about Not Quite Nigella, grab a coffee, paper and pen for your grocery list (you will want to cook something asap!) and head over to say hello. But before you do …
What made your #myfridayfavourites list this week?
Do you see shapes in the clouds too?
