It was my husband’s birthday and we decided to have a quick getaway to the beach. We were living in Thailand at the time, so it was just a quick hop skip and a jump down to Koh Lanta, a much more family friendly and quieter destination than the popular Phuket. We spent the week swimming in the pool, eating, building sandcastles, floating in the ocean and just generally relaxing. I distinctly remember one night, we wandered down the beach for dinner. The sunset was a spectacular orange, my daughter was chasing hermit crabs across the sand. We sat on a raised platform deck covered in cushions and drank mocktails (I was pregnant). We selected freshly caught seafood from the boat and watched them cook it over the sparking flames of the BBQ pit on the sand. It was one of those magical moments that happen in slow motion and you just know that it is something special.
I’m going to share some more photos from Koh Lanta on my Instagram today.
Do you have a memorable magical moment like this?
Ever been to Koh Lanta?
