This little piggy went to market

Farmers Market Bag

This morning we headed out to our local Farmers Markets to stock up on fresh produce. We foraged and returned home with a loaf of sour dough that tastes incredible drizzled with honey, an oversized punnet of strawberries that is already half gone, some tasty figs, cherry tomatoes, carrots, coriander, galangal, limes, chilli’s, mushrooms, pears, mouth watering Mediterranean olives and chorizo.

Fresh Produce

I love buying fresh food straight from the ‘farmer’ and wish that these markets were more regular than once a week. The food tastes better, looks better and it’s an experience going to the markets and meeting the people who make or grow it themselves. This is something that Australia seems to be only just starting to embrace. In my travels in both Europe and South East Asia I embraced their way of eating fresh and local. They would shop daily, only buying what was seasonal and available and only what they needed for that days meal. While the supermarket is practical, nothing beats a meal made with fresh produce from the farmers market.

Dribble Bib

I also stumbled upon a small store called Oh My Goodness. Monica hand-makes all her gorgeous outfits for little boys and girls and I found the most adorable little dribble bib with a vegetable print on it. It was love at first sight. (I wasn’t bribed to say this I just think her stuff was awesome!)
