Frozen Yoghurt Drops
I first saw this idea on Pinterest and it seems to be a popular craze at the moment. What could be easier than squirting blobs of yoghurt on a tray and freezing them into easy bite sized treats.
I don’t usually buy flavoured yoghurt, we add our own flavours so I had to go hunting at the supermarket and found a Strawberry Greek Yoghurt that looked good. But when I opened it I found out it had chunks of strawberries in it. Hmm. This normally wouldn’t be a problem but when I filled my icing gun with the yoghurt and tried to pipe out nice neat little blobs the chunks blocked it up and yoghurt came exploding out the wrong end.
So covered in yoghurt already I sifted through and individually plucked out the chunky bits and tried again. Success! Though the yoghurt was getting warm and runny by this stage so I had to work a bit faster. You simply pipe or blob the yoghurt onto a tray lined with baking paper.
My tips - buy chunk free yoghurt and work quickly to get it in the freezer. Oh - and be sure you have room for your chosen tray before you blob out your yoghurt.
They don’t take long to freeze so could be done about an hour before you wanted them. I made a heap and popped them in a tupperware container for ready access to delicious little morsels whenever you want them. They almost look like lollies and were gobbled up like they were. What a sneaky way to give a ‘healthy’ treat to kids.
