Roller-coasters

Trips to amusement parks recently for us have primarily been about the kids. This means merry-go-rounds, cuddling the giant characters, patting the animals and splashing in fountains. Until one day after spinning in the teacup ride, again, something snapped. I wanted to feel the rush of wind in my hair, my belly drop and throw my arms in the air. I was sick of pretending and wanted a real adrenalin rush. So, on my own, I walked all the way across the park to the big kids rides and I was all of a sudden sitting in a roller-coaster. I hadn’t been on a ride like this in probably 10 years or more. I had a flutter of excitement in my tummy and then it was gone. Left behind at the top of the first descent. Up, down, round and round I was jolted about in my seat and hurtled at ridiculous speeds along a metal railing. What fun!
