Bloggers Bazaar
I would like to welcome to Friday Favourites a fellow Gold Coast-er, Bec. She loves documenting life through blogging and photography and when she isn’t busy being mum to her two gorgeous kids, or renovating her home, she is online. Her site Bloggers Bazaar is about helping us bloggers tell our story by giving us a toolbox of information and resources. You can save all those hours of searching the web for answers and just check her site first. If you blog and haven’t checked it out yet, head on over to her site and have a look around for yourself. In the meantime, let’s chat to Bec about her top five favourite things and learn a little more about the woman behind the business.
Open spaces
I grew up with a huge backyard full of hills, forest, trees to climb and dams to explore. We spent the rest of our time on the beach watching dad surf so the outdoors is something I have grown up loving. I try to spend as much time doing the same kind of things with my kids. It’s so great being back in nature and I’m very blessed to live close by to the beach but also a short drive out to the countryside. Escaping the craziness of the city and the four walls of home to sink my feet into the sand or explore the country is so refreshing.
Markets
I love heading out early to the markets and scouring the second hand racks and getting special pieces from local designers. The Village Markets at Burleigh Heads are down the road from me and always make for a great Sunday morning before I head off to church with my family. Beautifully made coffee, live music and masses of creative folks sharing what they love, what’s better than that! I always leave finding something amazing and am constantly inspired by what the locals are doing.
Good Coffee
I either need a great night sleep or a nice strong coffee and because I have two little ones who aren’t the best sleepers, I’m often on the coffee hunt. Where I live there are heaps of great little coffee havens so I often find myself hanging out there, sometimes with laptop in hand when I’m childless or with two little ones excitedly downing bubba chino’s and running a muck. My favorites are Paddock Bakery in Miami and Daark in Chirn Park.
Little ones
Being a mum is far better than I ever imagined. My two light up my world and often throw it into chaos but I’ve come to love the mess, noise and exhaustion that kids bring. My heart is so full and I know that these years before they head off to school are seriously special as we have no plans and no where to be each day. We can head off on spontaneous adventures, spend time with friends, and hang out in our PJ’s until lunchtime. Being a SAHM has also given me the time to pursue entrepreneurial passions that I never had the time for when I was working full time.
Memory Keeping
Taking copious amounts of photos and videos and recording the little fragments of life is something I love to do! I have started Project Life this year and love the concept and having something tangible to look at and do with my images rather than just store them online. The kids also love looking through their albums so it’s a favourite part of my week sitting down to document what’s happened.
I just love this list, don’t you? Maybe because it reflects a lot of what I love to do in my own backyard. I can back Bec up that those markets and coffee shops are fabulous! Thank you for sharing your favourite things with us Bec. Don’t forget to visit Bloggers Bazaar and say hello.
