Raw Cacao & Coconut Bliss Balls
It is coming up to Christmas and everyone is pulling out their rum ball recipes (here’s mine) but if you are after a healthier version, or maybe just something to add to your snack repertoire here is an awesome bliss balls recipe.
Raw Cacao & Coconut Bliss Balls Recipe
- Raw Cacao Powder
- Dark Chocolate Chips – cheeky! But you only add a few, or none.
- Apricots, chopped into itty bitty bits
- LSA
- Chia Seeds
- Rolled Oats
- Dates, chopped and soaked in hot water
- Shredded coconut - put a sprinkle in the balls and more to roll them in
There is no right or wrong amount of each ingredient and it is a matter of finding the balance of flavours that you like. To keep it simple, try roughly 1 tablespoon of everything, half a cup of oats and half of dates to start with. When we make these during the year we tend to leave it a little bit chunkier but for rum ball replacement it is nicer to keep blitzing them til they are nice and fine and roll them a bit smaller with the desiccated coconut to roll them in.
We are always coming up with new combinations for bliss balls but I find that they are such a great sweet treat to have for that afternoon slump for both the kids and adults. Perfect for my lunch box arsenal - have you seen my Pinterest board for this?
