Ready for Summer

The last few weeks have been full of spectacular thunderstorms as we get closer to summer. The days have been hot and humid and the nights are warmer again. Playtime outside has to be done in the early hours of the day before it is too hot and the UV skyrockets. We are all in the habit of ‘slip slop slap’ and the only deterrent is having to time our outdoor adventures in between the storms.

As November came to a close I felt that it was time for a change so I got my hair cut short. It has only been a few days so I am still adjusting to the new me but I think I like it.

I’ve also been preoccupied with writing a novel. Yes, a novel! I’m not really sure where the inspiration came from but I decided to join in on Nanowrimo. For those not in the loop this is a challenge to write 50,000 words in just one month. I am proud to say that I am a winner. I did it! With just one day to go I ticked over the 50,000 word mark making all of the effort over the month well worth it. My novel isn’t finished yet so I still have to find the motivation to keep going with it and see it through to the end but I am happy that I have at least made a start.

As you can see the last few weeks have been pretty busy and in amongst it all I have been struggling to find the time to nurture my blog. I am going to make a big effort to try and keep going with it though and I hope you all hang in there with me.

As for the coming month, December is going to be packed full of Christmas cheer, glitter, tinsel and food. I hope to share with you all some of what we do to celebrate Christmas in our home.
